Measuring your fence for your fence slats can be done in a few simple steps! You just need a few minutes and a ruler.
Measure your chain link fence diagonally, as shown in the photo, by placing the top of the ruler against one of the wire mesh links.
If the measurement of one mesh link is 2 inches, then the gauge of the wire is typically 9 or 11.
If the measurement is 2 1/4 or 2 3/8-inches, then the gauge of the wire is usually 11 1/2, 12 or 12 1/2.
